M-16 (combat rifle)

M16 is a dangerous assault rifle which is in the service of US army.
M-16 was designed in 1956 and came into the service of US army in about 1963 (present today).
Although in the early 1960's, this rifle has some jamming problems but in combat zone M-16 proved that its a very effective combat zone rifle. It is famous for its Accuracy and light-weight. Due to its light weight , soldiers are allowed to carry a lot of other armors with them in battle zone.
SPECIFICATIONS : M16 weighing 7.26 kg has a bolt like or gas operated action. The length of this assault weapon is about 1,000mm (39.5 inches). The barrel length is about 508mm (20.1 inches). Its rate of fire is about 700-900 rounds per minute. It has a muzzle velocity of about 948 meter per second. It maximum effective range is 800 meters (Area Target) and 540 meters (Point Target).Its caliber is about 5.55mm. It is fully Automatic.
SERVICE HISTORY : M16 has played an important role in Vietnam battle , Gulf War , Iraq War , Somali Civil War , War in Afghanistan , Invasions of Grenada and in Operation Deny Flight.
